Handmade Planters is a small Lower Mainland company with a simple belief — everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food, no matter how much space they have. We design and build self-watering raised planter boxes from recycled materials, so everyday gardeners can grow more with less effort.
Our Story
It started with a problem most gardeners know well — the aching back, the sore knees, the daily watering routine that gets skipped one too many times. We wanted a better way. So we went to work.
Through hands-on trial, research, and practical development, we designed a raised planter box that works with you rather than against you. Standing height means no bending or kneeling. The built-in self-watering reservoir means your plants stay consistently watered even when life gets busy. And building from recycled wood means good materials don’t go to waste.
What started as a passion project grew into a refined product we’re genuinely proud of — one that’s been tested in real gardens, by real gardeners.
Handmade From Recycled Materials
Every planter box starts in our workshop, where wood reclaimed from other uses gets a second life as something practical and lasting. We cut, assemble, and finish each box by hand — no shortcuts, no mass production.
We take the reduce, reuse, recycle principle seriously — not as a marketing slogan, but as a practical approach to building things that last. Good wood shouldn’t end up in a landfill. In our hands, it ends up in your garden.
